The Oracle - Obsolete Technology?

The Oracle is a combination of a 1970's disk drive, used by the Los Angeles Times to store classified ads in an obsolete computer system, and a Greek goddess, her hands referencing the quest for knowledge beyond ourselves. The internet is our oracle: Thirty centuries later, knowledge at the speed of light. The internet, like our technological society, lacks the level of mysticism found in the Greek quest for knoledge.

The sculpture is powered and driven by an audio source.
